You will also need a Cargo Manager and Advanced Detection rail in order to fully automate the farming process. Steve’s Carts will require at least 3 diamonds for you to construct the farmer tool. However to do so will require you to visit the nether and collect some glowstone. However it is possible to have a farming cart be extremely fuel efficient. I will not get too into detail with this, because there are plenty of special youtube guides on it. Personally I prefer Minefactory Reloaded although Steve’s Carts has its merits too. You have two different mods to choose from with this one, Steve’s Carts 2 or Minefactory Reloaded. If you got lucky you have a biome where many cows, pigs or chickens spawn, but in the case that isn’t available, it might be wise to look at farming wheat to create bread. Now that you’ve got ores doubling, it’s probably a good time to think about food.
